At Guru Amar Dass Senior Secondary School, Goindwal Sahib we believe in the concept of lifelong learning and the idea that both Students and Teacherslearn new things everyday. We ensure that learning should be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for everyone. Through our teaching, we aim to equip children with the skills, knowledge and understanding. We believe that people learn best in different ways so we aim to provide a positive and varied learning environment that allows children to develop their skills and abilities to their full potential.

 We value our good working relationship with our children and their parents. We treat the children with kindness and respect. We treat them fairly and give them an equal opportunity to take part in class activities. We motivate our staff to follow School Behaviour and Discipline Policies. We set and agree with children the class code of conduct and expect all children to comply with these rules that we jointly devise to promote the best learning opportunities for all. We praise children for their efforts and, by so doing; we help to build positive attitudes towards school and learning.

We expect that parents have fundamental role to play in helping children to learn. They have responsibility to support their children and the school in implementing school policies in order for children to learn effectively. We expect from parents to –

  • Ensure that their child has the best attendance record possible;
  • Ensure that their child’s fees and dues have been cleared well in advance and NO WARNING has been issued to them in this regard, as this may result in deduction in the assessment marks;
  • Ensure that their child is equipped for school with the correct uniform, school bag and Identity Card;
  • Do their best to keep their child clean and healthy to attend the school. All serious ailments/disease (especially contagious) must be reported to the Principal in writing and the ward must be kept at home to make rest as per Doctor’s advice.
  • May inform school if there are matters outside school that are likely to affect a child’s performance or behaviour at school;
  • Promote a positive attitude towards school and learning in general;
  • Must fulfil the requirement set out in and obey the rules and regulations written in the School Prospectus / School Almanac.

 I wish very best for my students and expect sincerity for profession from my Teachers. Let’s work together and improve our teaching in future as well.

 With best regards,

 NPS Saini
